Rock & Soil Pinot Noir and the Willamette Valley soils, the perfect fit. Now add some rock-n-roll.

Willamette Valley soils are a diverse combination of volcanic, marine, alluvial, colluvial, and windblown sediments, deposits over millions of years through a spectrum of depositional processes and events.

Some of the soil types such as the Jory, a volcanic parent material, the Willakenzie, an ancient marine sequence, and Loess that mantles the landscape create a unique collection of soil types contributing to the region's fertile agricultural land.

Specifically, these soils are widely known for their ability to create uniquely high-quality grapes for producing world-class Pinot Noir.

Pete's Mountain Vineyard in West Linn, Oregon is neatly nestled in the prime location of these soils which result in some of the most amazing Pinot Noir in the world.   In fact, it's so tied to nature, that Mike and Kristi Thayer of Pete's Mountain Vineyard along with brother and business partner, Tommy Thayer of KISS have named it, "Rock & Soil Pinot Noir".

And to accommodate those white wine loving connoisseurs, they also crafted "Rock & Soil Chardonnay".  "Five Stars Exquisite!"

These wines are featured at The Geology of Rock-n-Roll event on Oct 10 at Red Rocks Amphitheater.
